The Phoenix Suns will be holding auditions for the 2008-09 Suns Dancers this summer! If you feel that you posses the style, skill and enthusiasm to be a member of one of the premier NBA Dance Teams, then this is your chance to test your skills with the Phoenix Suns!!!

Audition Information

DATES:

• Saturday, August 2 – First Round Audition (Open to all Dancers interested)
• Sunday, August 3 – Second Audition (Finalists Only)

Audition is closed to all spectators!!

TIMES:

** Saturday, August 2 – First Round Audition **

• 10:00AM - 10:45AM - Registration
• 10:45AM - 12:30PM - Welcome / warm-up / Learn & review audition material
• 12:30PM - 2:00PM - Audition for Judges
• 2:00PM - 3:15PM - Lunch Break
• 3:15PM - 3:30PM - First cut is made
• 3:30PM - 4:30PM - Audition for Judges
• 5:00PM - Conclusion of Day 1
• 8:00PM - Finalists are notified via hotline

** Sunday, August 3 – Interview Process **

Finalists from the First Round Audition will be assigned an interview time. The interview will be approximately 10 minutes in length and will take place between the time of 8:00am-12:00pm. Attire for the interview is to the finalists discretion. Once the interviews have been completed, Dancers will prepare to perform the audition piece again for judges.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age: 18
• Individual photo: non-returnable
• Resume: non-returnable
• Must attend a minimum of one Suns Dancers Prep Class (class information below)
• Schedule must permit attendance at Phoenix Suns home games throughout the 2008-09 NBA season, including preseason game in Palm Springs, California. (October 9 – 13)
• Schedule must permit attendance at all Phoenix Suns Dancers designated practices throughout the 2008-09 NBA season.

AUDITION ATTIRE:

• Half top
• Dancer pants, shorts or skirt (fitted)
• Dance or athletic shoes

TEAM COMMITMENT:

• All Phoenix Suns home Games
• All Rehearsals (average of 2-3 evenings per week)
• Various Suns events and personal appearances throughout the season

SUNS DANCERS PREP CLASS INFORMATION:

Prior to Suns Dancers Auditions on August 2 & 3, each candidate must attend a minimum of one Suns Dancers Prep Class. The purpose of the class is to fully prepare each candidate for the audition process. The class will involve learning a routine performed by the Suns Dancers during the 2007-08 season and asking/answering any questions candidates may have. Please note, registration is required (see below). Prep classes will be one hour in length and will take place at the dates and times listed below:

• Wednesday, July 9, 6:30 p.m. – US Airways Center
• Monday, July 14, 6:30 p.m. – US Airways Center
• Saturday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. - US Airways Center
• Monday, July 21, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center
• Tuesday, July 22, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center
• Monday, July 28, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center
• Tuesday, July 29, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center
• Wednesday, July 30, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center
• Thursday, July 31, 6:30 p.m. - US Airways Center

$10 per person per class attended. Payment take upon arrival to the class.

CLASS PROCEDURE :

Suns Dancer from the current 2007-08 Team will teach a previously performed Suns Dancers routine. Discuss Suns Activities, time commitment and answer all questions.
