Complex Ranks Suns Backcourt 4th Best in the League

In a ranking of the backcourt of all 30 NBA teams, Complex Magazine says the Suns’ tandem of Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe is the fourth-best in the league.

Indeed, the description is accurate, but I’m curious what fans think of the Dragic/Bledsoe backcourt finishing fourth behind the Bulls’ Derrick Rose/Jimmy Butler (3rd), the Clippers’ Chris Paul/J.J. Redick (2nd), and the Warriors’ Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson (1st)?

One could make a convincing case that the Suns boast the best backcourt in the league with Dragic/Bledsoe. With the duo in the starting lineup last season, the Suns won 67.6 percent of their games while combining for 38 points each night on 49.5 percent shooting and 11.4 assists.

For comparisons sake, the Warriors’ Curry and Thompson averaged 42.4 points on 45.8 percent shooting and averaged 10.7 assists while the Clippers’ Paul and Redick tallied a combined 34.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting and averaged 12.9 assists.

That is to say, ranking the best backcourts in the NBA is largely subjective. Fourth place, however, may be a bit of a stretch.

The good news? Maybe it will add even more fuel to the Suns’ fire.
