Phoenix Suns Charities Announce New Board Members

Phoenix Suns Charities announces the naming of Allan Allford, Philip Dion, and Heather Garboden to its Board of Directors.

Allford currently serves as President and CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona, the leading dental benefits provider in the state. Additionally, Allford is a member of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry board, where he takes a committed approach to supporting organizations that serve health and youth in Arizona.

Dion, a University of Arizona alumnus and resident of Tucson, works as Vice President, Public Policy for Unisource Energy Corporation. Dion also serves as Chair of the Governmental Affairs for the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, working to enhance the community through charity and sound public policy.

Garboden, the Director of Financial Analysis for US Airways, is an advocate for giving back to the community. She has participated in both Junior Achievement and Special Olympics, and is an active participant in US Airways’ “Do Crew,” where she spends time volunteering at local charities such as St. Mary’s Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity.

Phoenix Suns Charities is the cornerstone of the team’s foundation, making grants to non-profit organizations that serve children and youth in the areas of education, health and human services, the arts, sports and recreation, and rehabilitation. In the 23 years since its inception, Phoenix Suns Charities has donated over 11 million dollars to worthy Arizona organizations.
