Suns One On One: Get to Know Brandan Wright

When you’re the new guy at work, there is always an adjustment period. It’s natural. That is amplified when you have to move from another city to take your new position. Then add in having it be the third city you’ve lived in in as many weeks and your luggage being lost on the way and things get quite complicated.

That was what new Suns big man Brandan Wright had to deal with to get to his latest home in Phoenix. After three and a half seasons in Dallas as a member of the Mavericks, Wright was dealt to Boston as part of the Rajon Rondo deal on December 17. Less than a month later the rebuilding Celtics sent the 27-year-old athletic center to Phoenix. Along the way he endured a two-hour flight delay and lost his luggage on his way to meet the team in Memphis on Saturday.

That didn’t stop him from taking some time out of his first day in town to talk with me about basketball, Mario, Mozart, Raging Bull, plus more and how it all combines, in a Captain Planet type way, to make him.
