Attending a prep class is not mandatory, but highly recommended for all candidates interested in participating in the Suns Dancers Auditions on August 17. Different dance routines will be taught at each class. Prep classes are closed to spectators, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Tuesday, July 16

  • Registration: 6 PM
  • Clinic: 6:30 - 9:30 PM (Doors will close promptly at 6:30 PM so please do not be late)

  • Registration: 6 PM

Wednesday, August 7
  • Registration: 6 PM
  • Clinic: 6:30 - 9:30 PM (Doors will close promptly at 6:30 PM so please do not be late)

  • Registration: 6 PM

Cost

$50 per participant. Each subsequent clinic attended will be discounted by $10
(Payment will be collected upon arrival. Cash or money order only please!)

Age Requirements

Must be 18 years of age by audition date in order to audition. Participants 17 years of age may attend the clinics but need a parent or legal guardian present at registration to sign the release waiver.

**Parking is free in attached arena garage. Garage entrance is located off of 1st Street between Jefferson and Jackson. Entrance to the Practice Court is through the southeast doors (back of arena) off of Jackson and 3rd Street.**

Attire

Please wear dance or workout apparel and athletic or dance shoes with non-marking soles.

What to expect

These Audition Prep Classes are designed to take you through a mock audition. It will cover everything you need to know and expect on audition day.

What to bring

Bottled water or your preference of sports drinks. Headshots and resumes are not needed at this time.

The day will consist of...

  • Group warm-up
  • Learn sideline routine (6-8 counts)
  • Meet and learn material from current 2012-2013 Suns Dancers
  • Freestyle/solo round practice and tips
  • See examples of appropriate audition attire, hair, and make-up
  • Discussions covering resume writing and headshot submissions, judging criteria, nutrition and exercise
