SEASON RECAPSUMMER LEAGUE
FAST FACTS
Record (Southwest Division):
52-30 (third)

Statistical leaders:
Yao Ming (25.0 ppg)
Yao (9.4 rpg)
Tracy McGrady (6.5 apg)

Summary: The Rockets returned to the playoffs this season after having five players average better than 10 points (Ming, McGrady, Rafer Alston, Luther Head and Shane Battier). The Rockets faced Utah in the first round and raced out to an early 2-0 series lead. But the Jazz persevered and knocked off the Rockets in a series that stretched to seven games.

2007-08 OUTLOOK
The Rockets got what they needed in the draft; speed in the form of Aaron Brooks and depth in Carl Landry. Houston also made a splash by acquiring scoring guard Mike James from the Timberwolves. James should bolster the scoring punch for the Rockets who were in desperate need for a third scorer behind McGrady and Yao. A faster style of play in new coach Rick Adelman may just be what the Rockets need in order to advance in the playoffs.
