Summary: Team China has won more FIBA Asian Championships (14) than any other nation, including the last four straight and nine of the last 10. In last summer's FIBA World Championship, Team China fell in the round of 16 to eventual silver medalist, Greece. The team finished 15th among 24 competitors. *Team China is the first international competitor to play in Las Vegas. The team joins the league after playing an exhibition game in Dallas against the Mavericks' summer league roster on July 3 on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
*Two members of Team China, forward Yi Jianlian and guard Sun Yue, were drafted by NBA teams in late June. Jianlian was selected by MIL with the sixth overall pick, while Yue was selected by LAL with the 40th overall pick.
*Jianlian averaged 6.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in last year's FIBA World Championships.
