SEASON RECAPSUMMER LEAGUE
FAST FACTS
Record (Pacific Division) 40-42 (fourth)

Statistical leaders: (Elton Brand 20.5 ppg)
Brand (9.3 rpg)
Shaun Livingston (5.1 apg)

Summary: The Clippers narrowly missed the playoffs a year after going to the conference semifinals. The Clippers finished the last two months of the season going 12-13, but had they finished 13-12 they would have grabbed the final playoff spot from the Warriors. Livingston’s breakout season was cut short after tearing his ACL and missing the final 21 games of the season.

2007-08 OUTLOOK
The Clippers hope their bad luck and misfortunes are behind them and they can get back to their playoff ways of 2005-06. All-Star Elton Brand has proved himself as an automatic 20-point/10-rebound player and swingman Corey Maggette was solid coming off the bench or starting despite constant trade rumors. The team has a couple young promising players in Al Thornton and Guillermo Diaz can help the bench, but the Clippers will be looking, via free agency, to add another point guard to team with veteran Sam Cassell.

PLAYER TO WATCH
*Al Thornton-The 14th overall pick was considered a top-10 talent for a long time, but injury concerns scared some teams off and he landed in the Clippers lap. The former Florida State Seminole could be a key figure for the Clippers’ bench next season if he can show the consistency he did in his four-plus seasons in Tallahassee.

DID YOU KNOW?
*Center Chris Kaman was named All-League second team for his efforts in 2005. In five games, the center averaged 20.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
*Forward James Singleton led the 2005 summer league in rebounds (13.2 rpg). His average is the highest among all players in the league’s three summers.
