LAS VEGAS, July 11 – Day two of the NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS tipped off with the Detroit Pistons topping the Toronto Raptors 91-87 at the COX Pavilion on the campus of University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Austin Daye and DaJuan Summers led the Pistons with 19 points apiece and Quincy Douby tallied a game-high 21 points for the Raptors.
"I was very dedicated to get my shot ready for the game, me and DaJuan (Summers) went to the gym early this morning, and we did a good job of that and it showed in the game today,” said Daye about today’s performance.
In a closely contested first half, the Pistons took a 49-44 advantage at the half, led by Summers with 13 points.
The Pistons opened up a nine-point lead in the third led by Daye who tallied nine points in the period. The Raptors mounted a comeback in the fourth and tied the game twice early in the fourth but it was the Pistons who finished the game strong.
Both teams return to action on Monday as the Pistons (2-0) host the Warriors at 7 p.m. and the Raptors (0-2) take on the Trail Blazers at 5 p.m.
