LAS VEGAS, July 18 – In a closely contested game, the Sacramento Kings improved to 3-1 in NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS play with a 94-91 victory over the Golden State Warriors at the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Sacramento’s Quincy Douby threatened the summer league single game scoring record (42 points by Marcus Banks, Phoenix vs. Cleveland, July 9, 2007) with a 36-point effort that including a 23-point first half.

Jason Thompson sealed the Kings’ win on a tip-in with 17 seconds remaining to give Sacramento a 93-91 lead. He scored the last of his 20 points when he connected on the second of two free throws with three seconds to play to set the final score at 94-91.

Four Warriors (3-1), led by C.J. Watson with 24 points, posted double-figure scoring.

Golden State returns to action tomorrow in the 3 p.m. game versus Toronto while the Kings wrap up their NBA Summer League schedule on Sunday against the Houston Rockets in the league’s final game at 5:30 p.m.
