LAS VEGAS, July 17 – The combination of Hilton Armstrong and Bobby Brown were too strong for the Los Angeles Clippers as they guided the New Orleans Hornets to an 80-76 overtime victory in the second of six games Thursday at the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA SPORTS.

Armstrong, a third-year forward, led the way with 25 points and eight rebounds while Brown tallied 17 points and six assists. In the extra two-minute period, Brown took care of business with a jumper and two free throws late.

“I feel like this has been a great week for me,” Brown said. “I’ve been on this Hornets team with great players, especially with Hilton and Julian (Wright), and all these great coaches, and I’ve just tried to go out and do the same thing I’ve done every night - play hard.”

The Hornets held a 24-20 lead after one period, but the Clippers used a 13-1 run late in the second quarter to take a 48-37 halftime lead. New Orleans rallied in the fourth quarter and took a two-point lead on a 3-pointer by Brown with 5:20 remaining. Clippers guard Mike Taylor forced overtime with a jumper from the top of the key with 14.6 seconds left in regulation.

The Clippers got a great effort from Marcus Williams, who had 24 points and 10 rebounds.

The Clippers finished their Summer League campaign with a 2-3 record while the Hornets take the floor against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Saturday’s final game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
