Las Vegas, July 12, 2007 -- The Milwaukee Bucks took an early lead and did not look back as they easily defeated the New Orleans Hornets, 72-58. The Bucks never trailed in the game and led by as many as 16 late in the fourth quarter.
Lynn Greer paced the Bucks with 15 points (4-8 FG) in 20 minutes of action, while Damir Markota had 12 points (4-8 FG) and eight rebound in the win.
“We played a good team game, we shared the ball and helped a lot on defense,” Greer said of the win. “Summer league allows us to grow as a team and we got a good win today.”
The Hornets struggled from the floor all night. After hitting just three of their first 18 shots, things did not get much better as they finished the game shooting just 30 percent (20-67 FG).
Rookie Julian Wright had his roughest outing yet in his short summer league career for the Hornets. Wright missed all nine of his shots in 23 minutes of play.
“It was a tough day for me out there,’ Wright said. “We play tomorrow, so I will have a chance to redeem myself.”
Point guard Anthony Roberson came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points (5-14 FG) for New Orleans. Roberson was the only Hornet to score in double figures.
