Golden State 94, Philadelphia 87

LAS VEGAS, July 9 --If you’re Marco Belinelli, what do you do for an encore after your 37-point debut on Monday?

The Warriors rookie guard didn’t disappoint. He netted a game-high 23 points much to the delight of several members of the Warriors organization in attendance including new teammate Baron Davis. Golden State downed Philadelphia 94-87.

Belinelli got the Warriors going early. He knocked down his first two three-point field goals en route to 10 first quarter points. However, Philadelphia clawed its way back behind several Rodney Carney dunks.

Carney scored 17 of his 19 point in the first half. Philadelphia took a 47-42 halftime lead but the Warriors outscored the Sixers 30-14 in the third and never looked back.

“Overall I did a better job of distributing the ball” said Warriors guard Pierre Pierce. “They (the coaching staff) wanted me to push the ball and get it into the hands of shooters.”

Pierce had his second 20-plus point effort of the summer league. The former Iowa Hawkeye had 21 points and three assists in 31 minutes of action.

Guard Louis Williams led the way for the Philadelphia. He tallied 23 points on 6-11 shooting, nine rebounds and seven assists in 31 minutes.
