Hawks finish Summer League with win over Timberwolves

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 89-83 in the final day of play at the 2010 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

A close game throughout, the Hawks went on a 6-0 run in final minutes to secure a an 87-75 and never looked back.

Jordan Crawford and Jeff Teague led Atlanta's offense, scoring 15 apiece. Alade Aminu chipped in with 14, while Randolph Morris scored 13. Lazar Hayward finished with a game-high 19 for Minnesota, which also got 18 from Wayne Ellington.

Patrick O'Bryant and Ellington each scored six fourth-quarter points for the Timberwolves.

The Hawks shot 58 percent (11-for-19) from the field in the first en route to a 29-21 lead. Aminu scored eight in the quarter for Atlanta on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting, while Teague added seven.

Minnesota dominated the second, outscoring Atlanta 23-15 to grab its first lead of the game at 34-33. From there, the teams swapped the lead four times.

The seesaw battle continued in the third, with the teams trading buckets and the lead through much of the period. At the end of three, Atlanta owned a 66-61 lead.

The Hawks finish their 2010 NBA Summer League schedule with an 3-2 record, while the Timberwolves head back to Minnesota with a record of 1-4 at the desert classic.
