The Houston Rockets outscored the Toronto Raptors by 13 points in the final quarter to take and earned a 93-81 victory in game two of the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Raptors entered the game with an eight game winning streak dating back to the 2009 NBA Summer League.
Donatas Motiejunas led all scorers with 25 points while Terrence Jones chipped in 17 for the Rockets, while Terrence Ross and Ed Davis combined for 39 points for the Raptors.
The Rockets trailed by as many as 10 in the first quarter before putting together an 11-0 to lead by two, 22-20. The Rockets were led by Marcus Morris with nine points in the quarter while Terrence Ross led the Raptors with seven.
The Rockets maintained a one point lead at halftime. Jeremy Lamb contributed six points during the quarter for the Rockets while the Raptors Ed Davis led the team with nine second quarter points. After shooting .529 percent (9-17) in the first quarter the Rockets shot just .318 percent in the second (7-22).
The Raptors outscored the Rockets by two in the third quarter to take a one point lead heading into the final period of play. Terrence Ross led all players in the quarter scoring seven points.
The Rockets dished out nine of their 21 assists in the fourth quarter, five of them coming from Scott Machado.
The Raptors (0-1) will return to action on Sunday, July 15 at 3:30 p.m. as they play host to the Miami Heat. The Rockets (1-0) will host the Washington Wizards on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
