ORLANDO -- After an impressive outing off the pine on Wednesday, Dwight Buycks was given the opportunity to run the show for the Thunder at the 2012 AirTran Airways Orlando Pro Summer League on Thursday.

Buycks responded by taking full advantage of the opportunity.

The point guard out of Marquette, who spent last season with the Tulsa 66ers, erupted for a team-high 22 points, including the go-ahead bucket with 29.8 seconds left, to give the Thunder an 87-86 triumph over the Nets.

"The opportunity presented itself and I felt I did a good job out there," Buycks said.

John Holland went 6-for-11 from the field on his way to 15 points, while Garrett Temple added 12.

Meanwhile, for Brooklyn, Tyshawn Taylor put together his best outing of the summer.

When the Nets acquired his rights during the 2012 NBA Draft, Brookyln was hoping to have a young backup point guard to groom for the future. He's currently proving that he's a perfect fit for that role.

The rookie guard out of Kansas poured in a game-high 23 points to go along with five assists.

"He's a great player," Buycks said. "That's why he's in the NBA now."

Al Thornton had another solid contest, notching 19 points and six rebounds.

The Thunder (2-2) close out their 2012 AirTran Airways Orlando Pro Summer League stint against the Jazz on Friday, while the Nets (0-4) look for their first win against the Pacers.
