The Washington Wizards’ amazing turnaround this season can be attributed to their terrific trio of Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes and Antawn Jamison. The three combined for over 67 points per game during the regular season and are key to the Wizards’ playoff success.

And the trio has stepped it up in the postseason, delivering consistent offense plus some key clutch baskets to keep the Wizards in the hunt.

The Play
This set begins with Larry Hughes (20), Gilbert Arenas (0) and Antawn Jamison (4) on the left side of the floor. Hughes (20) passes to Arenas (0) on the wing. Arenas (0) then enters the ball to Jamison (4) in the low post.

The Wizards now have the advantage with Antawn Jamison (4) isolated on the left block. Larry Hughes (20) keeps the defense occupied by curling off a double screen set by Brendan Haywood (33) and Jared Jeffries (1). Gilbert Arenas (0) clears out.

The defense cannot help on Antawn Jamison (4) because Larry Hughes (20) and Gilbert Arenas (0) are in motion and drawing attention. Jamison (4), who is difficult to stop with single coverage, spins baseline and scores.
