The Philadelphia 76ers stepped up big time as the trade deadline approached on Thursday, February 24. The night before, the Sixers and Kings completed a six-player deal that sent Brian Skinner, Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson to Sacramento, and Matt Barnes, Michael Bradley and four-time All-Star Chris Webber to the City of Brotherly Love. The dealing didn't end there, as the Sixers traded Glenn Robinson to the Hornets in exchange for Rodney Rogers and Jamal Mashburn.

The trades were designed to provide some added support and options around Sixers guard and 2005 NBA All-Star Game MVP, Allen Iverson, and help Philadelphia in its run for the playoffs.

Iverson is having yet another outstanding season for the Philadelphia 76ers. He can score in a variety of ways (presently leading the NBA in scoring) and has been adept at getting his teammates involved (fifth in the league in assists). Philadelphia's recent acquisitions of Chris Webber and Rodney Rogers should also provide Iverson with more open looks as the big men set screens and draw the defense in the paint.

The Play
Allen Iverson (3) initiates the 76ers offense with an entry pass to Aaron McKie (8) on the right wing. Iverson then makes a shallow cut to the right side of the floor.

Marc Jackson (25) and Rodney Rogers (54) then set a staggered double screen for Andre Iguodala (9). Iguodala cuts high off the screen. Aaron McKie (8) then passes to Iguodala.

Marc Jackson (25) and Rodney Rogers (54) then adjust their position and set a double screen for Allen Iverson (3). Iverson uses the screen to get open for a three-point shot. Andre Iguodala (9) passes to A.I. (3), who knocks down the three.
