Watch the video
After finishing the regular season with a 59-23 record and the top seed in the East, the Miami Heat have stepped it up in the playoffs. The Heat eliminated the Nets in the first round in four games, and have started off their second round series vs. the Washington Wizards with three straight wins.

The Miami Heat are rolling in the NBA playoffs, riding the inside dominance of Shaquille O’Neal and the red hot shooting of their perimeter players. This exceptionally accurate inside-out combination has opposing defenses’ heads spinning while trying to make a choice: Try to stop O’Neal with single coverage or send help to double or triple cover him and leave someone else open on the perimeter?

The Play
Damon Jones (19) starts the Heat offense with an entry pass to Shaquille O’Neal (32) in the low post. After O’Neal (32) catches the pass, Eddie Jones (6) makes a basket cut down the middle of the lane. The left side of the floor is now clear for O’Neal (32).

Shaquille O’Neal (32) is now in control. The defense makes a decision to triple team him. O’Neal (32) and his teammates read the defense, keep proper spacing and spot-up for a shot.

The defensive help does not get to Shaq (32) quickly enough and he is allowed to turn to the middle of the floor. O’Neal (32) makes a skip pass to Eddie Jones (6) who is wide open outside the three-point line. Jones (6), an outstanding shooter, knocks down the three-point shot.
