The Play

The Washington Wizards roll into the playoffs led by the dynamic threesome of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison, and Caron Butler. They have now earned consecutive postseason berths for the first time since 1988. Gilbert Arenas, who has had a MVP-caliber season, must continue to make big shots for the Wizards to advance.

Gilbert Arenas(0) begins this set, immediately following transition, with a pass to Antawn Jamison(4) on the right wing. Arenas(0) then makes a basket cut toward the left side of the lane.

After Gilbert Arenas(0) has made his cut, Antawn Jamison(4) reverses the ball to Donell Taylor(21) at the top of the key. Taylor(21) dribbles left then executes a dribble hand-off with Billy Thomas(12). Gilbert Arenas(0) is now in position to run off a screen.

Michael Ruffin(51) and Antawn Jamison(4) move into position to set a double-staggered screen for Gilbert Arenas(0). Arenas(0) cuts off the screens and gets open. Billy Thomas(12) passes to Gilbert Arenas(0), who has a quick release, for the 3-point shot.
