The premium fuel in the Houston Rockets’ offense all year has been supplied by Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. Their unique combination of talent and size has made them a powerful tandem and a dominating force in the half court set. Look for the Rockets to propel forward in the playoffs.

During the regular season, McGrady and Yao combined to average 44 points per game, and the duo has stepped up in the postseason, averaging just under 50 points per game as a pair over the team's first three games against Dallas.

The Play
Tracy McGrady (1) starts this set from the right side of the floor. Clarence Weatherspoon (30) moves into position to screen for David Wesley (7), who cuts to the perimeter.

Tracy McGrady (1) passes to David Wesley (7) and then Clarence Weatherspoon (30) sets a back screen for McGrady (1), who uses the back screen and cuts toward the basket.

Tracy McGrady (1) now reads the defense. He can cut to the right wing off a Clarence Weatherspoon (30) down screen or utilize the double screen set by Bobby Sura (3) and Yao Ming (11). McGrady (1) chooses the double. David Wesley (7) passes to McGrady (1) after he curls around his third screen of the series and he hits the jump shot.
