The surging Nuggets are headed towards the playoffs. A balanced offense, which has five players averaging in double figures, and an improved defense have turned the streaking Nuggets into a dangerous team entering postseason play.

After starting the season 17-25, the Nuggets brought in a new coach and have stepped up in the second half of the season, winning 36 of their next 42 games. Denver is riding a 10-game winning streak into the final week of the regular season and looking to cause some upsets in the Western Conference.

The Play
Andre Miller (24) is isolated on the left wing ready to begin the Nuggets offense. Eduardo Najera (21) and DerMarr Johnson (3) are in a position to set a staggered double screen for Marcus Camby (23). Carmelo Anthony (15) starts the play by setting a ball screen for Miller (24). Both Miller (24) and Camby (23) use their screens.

Andre Miller (24) now has two options. The first option is Carmelo Anthony (15) who is rolling to the block. Anthony (15) has a mismatch because the smaller point guard has switched on to him. The defense shades toward the middle to help defend Anthony (15). Andre Miller (24) reads this defensive adjustment and chooses option two by passing to Marcus Camby (23), who has cut off the double screen to the top of the key. Camby (23) knocks down the jump shot.
