Mar. 3, 2008 -- STATS goes inside the numbers and provides a weekly look at the most noteworthy boxscore happenings in the NBA. This is the eighteenth installment of the season, covering games from Feb. 25 - Mar. 2.

The San Antonio Spurs were held to just five points in the first quarter of their 89-74 win over the Hawks last Monday. The five first-quarter points were the fewest by a winning team in the shot clock era.

The Houston Rockets, matching a franchise record with their 15th consecutive win last night against the Nuggets, went 13-0 in the month of February. That is the most wins by a club in an undefeated month since the San Antonio Spurs went 16-0 in March of the 1995-96 season.

Kobe Bryant had 27 field-goal attempts and 27 free-throw attempts in his 52-point effort against the Mavericks on Sunday. The only other time in 2007-08 that a player had at least 25 field-goal and free-throw attempts in a single game was also done by Bryant, in his season opener against the Rockets on October 30.

The Utah Jazz will host the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. The Jazz have won 15 straight games at home, their longest such streak this decade. The franchise record for consecutive home wins is 20, done from February 26, 1998 to March 5, 1999.

The Denver Nuggets connected on 59 of their 88 field-goal attempts in their 138-96 win over the Sonics last Wednesday. The .670 shooting from the field was the highest single-game field-goal percentage by a club since the Los Angeles Clippers hit .693 of their shots against the Raptors on March 13, 1998.

Devin Harris hit at least three three-pointers in each of his first two games with the New Jersey Nets. He managed to make at least threes only three times in his 251 career games with the Mavericks.

LeBron James extended his streak of 20-plus point games to 37 with his 37-point effort against the Bulls on Sunday. It is the longest streak of 20-point games by a player since Kobe Bryant scored at least 20 points in 63 straight games from December 9, 2005 to November 3, 2006.

Chris Paul has recorded at least one steal in every game this season and in 60 straight contests dating back to 2006-07. That is the longest such streak by any active player in the league.
