Double-Lee Good
April 16, 2009
As far as the standings are concerned, it wasn't a great season in New York. The Knicks finished 14th in the Eastern Conference, 18 games below .500. But when it comes to putting up numbers, playing for Mike D'Antoni is a good thing. And David Lee took advantage of more offensive freedom and a faster pace to lead the NBA in double-doubles for the 2008-09 season. Lee outlasted Dwight Howard, edging the Magic center by two double-doubles. Lee recorded just three double-doubles in his first 11 games, but put up 62 in his final 70.

Howard, who recorded nine 20-20 games this season, led the league with 69 double-doubles in 2007-08, while Lee had just 23. Howard also finished second to Kevin Garnett in both 2005-06 and 2006-07.
