The results are in; it’s official. Antonio Daniels has mastered the “bobble” – and just in time. On Tuesday March 12th, Antonio Daniels saw the ceramic, hand painted version of himself awarded to 3,000 members of the crowd, when the San Antonio Spurs gave away the A.D. Bobblehead doll that night, courtesy of Body Solutions.
“I didn’t know about the giveaway when I came to the game tonight,” said Spurs fan Amanda Masters, “but I’m really excited that I won! Antonio is a really good player and he just seems really cool.”
Every ticketed fan at the March 12th game had a chance to win one of 3,000 Bobbleheads. When each fan entered the Alamodome Monday evening, they received a special numbered voucher. During the second quarter of the game, the Spurs Coyote performed a lottery-style drawing at center court. Every person that held a voucher donning the winning number – two – won one of the Antonio Bobblehead dolls.
“The Bobblehead promotions are my favorite,” said Sonya Charo. “They are so fun and really cool. They make people want to come out and try to get the winning number.”
The lottery style system was created to give every fan attending the game a chance to win one of the unique #33 Bobbleheads. Using a formula based on the number of fans attending the game that night, each ticket-holder had an equal opportunity to obtain a winning voucher. And just as before, this special lottery-system meant no long lines for fans to wait in for a chance to win, since everyone coming through the doors received an entry voucher.
“All of the Bobbleheads are very similar, but I wanted Antonio’s Bobblehead more than the others because he’s a ‘go-getter,’” Charo said. “I already won both Tim and David from last season and David, the Coyote, and now Antonio this season. I can’t wait for the last [Tim Duncan] Bobblehead to come out.”
The Spurs and Body Solutions will give away one final Bobblehead doll this season, when Tim Duncan – in his road uniform – is awarded to 3,000 lucky fans at the Spurs vs. Nuggets game on April 10.
So, what is Charo’s secret to win?
“I’m just lucky. I don’t buy a whole bunch of tickets, I usually get two or three. I guess I just get lucky!”
