A native of Argentina, Spurs guard Manu Ginobili will make his first appearance in the NBA All-Star Game this year. The third-year guard is averaging 16.0 points and 1.72 steals (10th in the NBA) in 30.0 minutes per game. The team's third-leading scorer behind Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, Ginobili is a key piece of the puzzle for the Southwest division leading Spurs.     Popovich Earns Spot As Western Conference Head Coach
    San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will coach the Western Conference All-Stars for the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, to be played on Sunday, Feb. 20 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo. Popovich and the Spurs (38-10, .792) coaching staff earned the honor to coach the Western Conference All-Stars as a result of their 103-91 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, Feb. 3 at STAPLES Center, clinching the best possible winning percentage in the Western Conference through games of Feb. 6, 2005.

    San Antonio Spurs assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo and Nuggets legend Alex English will lead the Rookie squad and Miami Heat assistant coach Bob McAdoo and Denver coaching legend Doug Moe will lead the Sophomore team in the got milk? Rookie Challenge, to be played on Friday, Feb. 18 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

    Duncan Named 2005 All-Star
    Spurs forward Tim Duncan has been named a starter for the for the 2005 NBA All-Star game. This will be his seventh consecutive All-Star appearance and sith consecutive start. Duncan garnered 1,812,522 votes and is joined by Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming, and Tracy McGrady to represent the Western Conference on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
