Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich

On the game - “That was a win that you would categorize as an ugly win. But, we don't give them back and we're happy to have this one. As has been all season, Tim Duncan is our most consistent player. He's been fantastic. The bench helped us out. Our new players, Richard Jefferson, Keith Bogans and George Hill, who's a second year player for us, saved our night for us."

On inconsistency - “George Hill, Roger Mason, Keith Bogans along with Tim Duncan played so great. The real bottom line is our inconsistency. We have a long way to go. Luckily with our team, we have the character to keep fighting, but we have a long way to go.”

On if his dunks can energize the team - "I think in certain situations it can. In the third quarter, the Pacers did a good job of continuing that momentum that they finished the second quarter with. They came out and played extremely well. We weren’t hitting shots and were missing free throws. We got in the bonus early and Pop told us to keep going hard to the basket and fortunately I got some space and was able to dunk the basketball."

On Tim’s game winning dunk - "I started laughing at his dunk. I was right there on the first shot and he got it back – I was trying not to tip it away from him. As soon as he got his feet set and there was no one around him, I saw he had it and he just went up with the ball. He showed a little bit of emotion which is rare for Tim. But at 46 years to go up and dunk the ball like he did that’s pretty impressive."

On the Spurs play in the third quarter - "We are doing a good job at playing well for 70 percent of the game. The other 30 percent is terrible. We have to continue improve and keep working on that. Hopefully things will begin to get normal and become more and more consistent. We had a good first half but we didn’t do a good job in the third quarter – and now that we have a couple of more guys out it going to make things even more difficult."

On the last play of the game - "It was very similar to what we did in Utah. I gave up the ball in Utah and I didn’t want to give it up tonight. I wanted to take it to the glass and see what happened. Roy Hibbert made a very good defensive play, I saw the guy come from the corner and tried to stretch it out and it just came right back to me. It was a little bit of luck – we’ll take it."

On the third quarter struggles - "I am concerned about everything that has happened but we showed character tonight and really fought back. Down 10 and 11 in the fourth quarter we found a way to get it done. The end result was all that matters and we learned a little something tonight. Luckily we did it in a win."

On losing Matt Bonner - "It’s huge for us. Hopefully it’s a quick one and he gets back with us. It’s a big loss; he plays some good minutes for us and changes the look on the floor. We will have to adjust without him and hope he gets back soon."

Pacers Head Coach Jim O'Brien

On the game - “This was a tough game and we couldn’t keep them off the glass. The last offensive rebound was the difference in tonight’s game."

On the final play - “You gotta take your hat of to [Tim]. I feel like I let the team down. I blocked it and then he got it right back. I should have made a second effort to try and get another block but I was off balance and he dunked it and finished it for his team.”

On Roy Hibbert - “He played well when Tim Duncan was in the game and he was able the have his way DeJuan Blair for most of the game. Roy played solid basket ball tonight with six blocked shots and he did a really nice job in the low post for us.”

On the defensive play on Duncan at the end of the game - “You gotta take your hat of to [Tim]. I feel like I let the team down. I blocked it and then he got it right back. I should have made a second effort to try and get another block but I was off balance and he dunked it and finished it for his team.”

On the rebound Tim stole from him with ten seconds left - “I had a hand on it and I should have been able to come up with it, but he got it. I just gotta learn from this and be more aggressive. That should have been mine. It was one of the pivotal moments. We were up one and he got it. If I would have gotten it I think it would have sealed the game.”

On coming back into the game when Murphy picked up his fifth foul - “I just wanted to go out there and try to finish the game. Murphy is an extremely good shooter and defender and coach put me out there for him. I tried to play the best defense that I can, but I came up short.”

On what they can take out of this game - “I think we can play with anybody…the best teams. We can beat those teams if we play like this every night. It takes everybody. It takes sacrifice and a willingness to do it. Everybody has to do it together to make sure the team wins.”

On the last play of the game - “You’re going to make some and you’re going to miss some. The coaches and my teammates have the belief that I can get that shot off. I got it up…I had the opportunity…but it just fell short.”

On the lineup change - “Coach thought it was the best chance for us to win so I’ll roll with that. I can’t complain about it. It’s still my job to come out and play and be productive. That’s out of my control.”

On Duncan stepping out on the pick-and-rolls - “They made an adjustment and made me make a decision. If I decided I had to shoot the ball, I had to shoot it over a seven-footer. They made a me adjust a little bit. I still feel like I got some good looks but they just didn’t go in for me.”

Again on the last shot - “I was in that situation a lot last year and we had some success with it. Tonight was just one of those opportunities that didn’t fall for me.”
