Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich

On Tony Parker - "He’s better when he’s aggressive. He’s better when he tries to be a scorer. He’s smart enough to give it up when he’s stopped and that sort of thing, but I think that his best games are when he’s very active for us at the offensive end and trying to be a scorer and I want him to do that. I think he’s doing a good job of it this season and hopefully he can continue to do that.

On Game 2 adjustments - I’m sure that Seattle will make some adjustments or try to do some things better, just like we will.

It’s a game of mistakes. Both teams are going to try to play better than they did in Game 1. We just had a great start.

On Ray Allen being questionable - I don’t think you ever want anybody not to play, especially at this time of season. I look forward to the challenge of him playing. At the same time, I can’t control what he does. If he plays he plays, if he doesn’t he doesn’t.

On Glenn Robinson in Game 1 - I thought Glenn was awesome. He’s gone through a lot this past year. Just to come in and contribute he’s been the total professional here that maybe that wasn’t said about him in other places.

On the Sonics without Ray Allen - They have other guys that are capable of doing well. Rashard Lewis is an all-star in his own right and he’s going to come out and compete.

On the Sonics - We don’t know what they’re going to do. All we can do is prepare for them as we did prior to Game 1.

On Seattle paying more attention to Tony Parker - Every series is about adjustments. They’re going to have to do something, definitely.

Tony just did a great job of breaking their defense down and getting inside a little. I think he’ll have the opportunity to do that again.

On avoiding another bad third quarter - We’re not thinking about it. We’re going to go in there, we’re going to take the shots that are there, and hopefully they go down for us.

On Pop not wanting them to lose focus - He wants us to react well after our first win. He wants to make sure we don’t come out flat and don’t play like the second half we had (in Game 1).

On losing focus - It’s hard to focus when you’re up 30. You try to do the same things and be very aggressive, but at the same time they (the Sonics) played a little bit better too.

We just have to make sure we don’t give them any hope, any confidence and just play the same way, aggressive and take care of the transition and the boards and I think we’ll be ok.

On Game 2 adjustments - “We just want to try to be perfect. We don’t want to have quarters where we let them score like 30 points. We just have to make sure we play the same D.”

On avoiding another bad third quarter – We know we made too many mistakes. We kind of stopped playing. Even though it is hard not to do it after taking a 30 point lead, we shouldn’t do it.

We’ve got to take care of business. If we have the opportunity to kill the opponent we got to do it as soon as we can. We made too many mistakes in the second half and we are looking forward to not doing it again.

On Seattle adjustments – For sure they’re going to try to do things a little bit different and better. I don’t think it so much about the game plan or how you play D or the pick and roll. I think it’s about the energy and aggressiveness you bring the first minute.

They’re going to be hurt and they’re going to going to come here to try to get that win. So we got to know it’s going to be a different game.
