David Robinson:
On the game - "We had some great plays and aggressive moves throughout the first half, but we got a little sloppy in the second half, and they really came out and hit some big shots. Kobe (Bryant) really kept them in the game, and Janero (Pargo) really hit a big shot. We came away with a W tonight which we definitely needed. We just have to look at staying focused for a full 48 minutes. Any team in this playoffs is going to come at you and make runs. We just have to learn to sustain that run, and get in position to make some plays."
On Tony Parker - “He did a great job of getting us that lead early and putting us in the position to jump out of the gates. His aggressiveness not only on the offensive end, but the defensive end is important for us to come out and set a tone. He really helped us do that early, and we were able to carry that intensity throughout the game.”

Tim Duncan:
On emotion - "They came out with a lot energy. We knew they would. That’s what you play at home for. That’s what home court advantage is for, for that energy. They had a lot of reasons to come out and really be energized and I thought they used it well."
On the game – “Those guys they really switched it up. I thought they did a great job of. Everyone just tried to give me a different look and I think that is what they were going for. Mark played me really physical. Samaki did a pretty decent job. Slava was in there a little while. Shaq played me. They just game me different looks and it worked pretty well.”
On Game 5 - "I think we have played it pretty well, all except for the last game. Defensively I thought we were pretty solid. 45 free throws, there is not much you can do about that, when they get 20 more free throws than you. Other than that I thought we were pretty solid. I thought we did a great job rebounding the ball."

Stephen Jackson:
On the game - "We came away with a big win tonight. We didn’t play consistent, but we got a big win, and now we have to get prepared and focused and make plays and attack them in Game 6."

Tony Parker:
On the game - "Tonight we really came out aggressive and make plays. We were focused and really came out and matched their intensity. We made too many turnovers down the stretch, and they really hit some big shots to cut in the lead, but we were able to hang on and keep home court advantage. Kobe (Bryant) really came out and made some great plays, and just kept them in the game. He was phenomenal tonight."
On coming into Game 6 - “We really just have to come in focused and stay aggressive. We have to make plays and just match their intensity and fight. This has been a very competitive series, and we have to come into L.A. focused and ready to go a full 48 minutes.”

Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson:
On the Robert Horry shot - "We’ve seen so many of those shots go down. We were waiting for it to happen this game. I thought the shot went down and then it came back out. It ruined a great comeback."
On the last play - "We wanted to get the ball to the basket and tie the game. A lot of people would say go for the win on the road. It was a good decision by Kobe. It was the right sequence. Rob (Horry) was open."
On Shaquille O’Neal - “He wasn’t active tonight. He didn’t move well defensively. It hurt us a little bit.”
On his health - "I felt great. I told the players at halftime, you’re down by twenty, but you have to give yourself the opportunity to win the ball game. That’s all we’re here for. We have the opportunity to win. We have to go back and win game six and then come back to win game seven."

Kobe Bryant:
On Shaq - "He’s been having problems with his left knee. It was probably bothering him some tonight."
On the role players - "Everyone says our role players or supporting cast, whatever you want to call them, need to step up and produce big points on the board, but I’m not (saying that). They just need to play loose and do the intangibles."
On facing elimination – "We have to win the next game. Not much else you can do at this point. We didn’t play well in the first half and played okay in the second half. A loss is a loss. Just chalk it up, go home to LA, take care of business and come back for game seven.
"Just win. Win at all costs. That’s it."
On the Horry shot - "It looked good from where I was standing. He had perfect arc on the ball, good rotation. It looked like it was going down and then it came back up.”

Robert Horry:
On his shot - "It felt really good out of my hand, it was a disappointment.”
“I am supposed to be known for that type of shot. I thought it was on the money.”
“I wanted the ball, I did everything right. I got my feet set, it just did not fall.”

“In a situation like that I never doubt myself.”
On the positives from the game - “The reserves played very well for us. Pargo made some big plays.”
On the game - “That game put a lot of stress on the coach. Hopefully next time out we can go up 25 and take some of the stress off of him.”
On facing elimination - “We are in a desperate situation now, but the whole playoffs are a desperate situation.”
