How does it sound?
Conference champions and number one in the NBA. How does it sound? Not bad, right?
Considering they way in which Dallas started (with so many wins in a row) and our quite erratic beginning this season (especially on the road), little of this could be forecasted. During the second part of the year we lost very few games and we made a complete U-turn regarding our performances on the road. I think we've lost only two games out of 20 or 22, which means a lot considering how tough the Western Conference is.
We know for sure that being "the number one" at this stage doesn't mean that much. It is now that we will have to show we are really “the best.” The next stage will be really tough but we are confident about being ready for the challenge.
Overall, the regular season was brilliant. I couldn’t possibly ask for more in my rookie year. Being part of the best team in the regular season in the NBA is quite something and I was able to take this great pleasure during my first year. My main goal from the beginning was to fit the league as soon as possible and to try to help and collaborate with my team as much as possible, playing important minutes. I think we achieved even more than that.
There is great expectation to see how this separate season, as many people call it, begins. Playoffs are said to be completely different from the regular season, more intense and to imply much more responsibility… I just hope it's true! I can hardly wait.
See you soon!
