Q&A With Devin Brown
Spurs.com sat down with guard Devin Brown to check out what it's like being a home-grown fan favorite in San Antonio, his all-time favorite sports moment and life as an NBA player.

Spurs.com: What was it like the first time you dunked the basketball in a game?
Devin Brown: Well, it was at West Campus (High School) my sophomore year. We got a steal and they threw it ahead to me, so everybody was getting ready, standing up. So I just went up and tried to jump as high as I could and threw it down pretty nice. Everybody was excited and jumping around. It was just a great experience.

Spurs.com: What’s the greatest sporting event you’ve ever watched in person as a fan?
Devin Brown: I would say the 1999 Western Conference Finals when the Spurs played Portland and Sean Elliott hit that shot from the right-hand side. That was probably the best event that I’ve seen in person.

Spurs.com: What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
Devin Brown: Martin and ThunderCats.

Spurs.com: What’s the strangest fan interaction you’ve ever experienced?
Devin Brown: One time at dinner, this lady’s boyfriend told her who I was and she walked up to me and was just yelling like, ‘Oh my God!’ She was just screaming and making a scene and I was like, ‘Wow’ because that’s never happened before.

Spurs.com: Is there anything other NBA players do on the court that you envy or admire?
Devin Brown: Just having the ability to be inside-out. I think guys that do that in this league are really special, you know, being able to shoot the three and then drive to the bucket and dunk on people. I think that’s a real special quality to have, and I really admire the people that have that because it takes some time to develop.

Spurs.com: What are some of your favorite off-season hobbies?
Devin Brown: Golf is pretty much the one that I do all the time.
