Manu Ginobili Suffers Fractured Fifth Metacarpal

UPDATE - Jan. 5, 2012 - SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that guard Manu Ginobili underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand this morning in San Antonio. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Mark Bagg. During the surgery screws and a plate were inserted into Ginobili's hand. The injury occurred in the second quarter of Monday night's Spurs-Timberwolves game in Minnesota.


Jan. 4, 2012 - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that guard Manu Ginobili will undergo surgery to repair a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Mark Bagg in San Antonio on Thursday morning.

During the surgery screws and a plate will be inserted into Ginobili's hand. A timeline for his return has not yet been determined. The injury occurred in the second quarter of Monday night's Spurs-Timberwolves game in Minnesota.


Jan. 2, 2012 - Manu Ginobili suffered a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand Monday night while playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He will be examined Tuesday in San Antonio.

At this point no timeline has been determined for his return.
