Spurs Sign 2011 Draft Pick Cory Joseph

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed guard Cory Joseph. The Spurs selected Joseph with the 29th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft. Per club policy details of the contract were not released.

Joseph (6-3, 185), an early entry candidate in this year’s draft, played his lone collegiate season last year at the University of Texas. He was named to the Big 12 All-Rookie Team and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. Joseph averaged 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 32.4 minutes while shooting .422 (136-322) from the field, .413 (52-126) from three-point range and .699 (51-73) from the foul line. He scored in double figures 21 times, including a season-high 21 points and the game-winner at North Carolina on Dec. 18.

Joseph will wear No. 5 for the Silver and Black.
