Spurs Announce Broadcast Schedule for 2011-12 Season
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs announced today the broadcast schedule for the 2011-12 season, with 65 games airing locally on FOX Sports Southwest, KENS 5 and KMYS CW35. All games will broadcast in high definition TV.
FOX Sports Southwest will air 58 games this season, hosting Spurs Live pre and post-game shows for every Spurs broadcast on FSSW. The Spurs home preseason game vs. the Houston Rockets (Dec. 21) will tip-off coverage on FSSW at 7:30 p.m. Fans can tune in to watch opening night on Dec. 26 at 7:30 p.m. when the Spurs begin the 2011-12 campaign at the AT&T Center against the Memphis Grizzlies. FOX Sports Southwest is also where fans can see the Spurs in their road matchups against the Miami Heat (Jan. 17) and the Boston Celtics (April 4).
KENS 5 TV will broadcast five games this season, including a 30-minute pre-game show prior to three game broadcasts. Coverage tips-off on KENS 5 on Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. when the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks make their first visit of the season to the AT&T Center. KENS 5 TV will also broadcast home games against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 4, the Chicago Bulls on Feb. 29 and the Los Angeles Lakers on April 20.
Local partner KMYS CW35 will air two games this season, each broadcast featuring pre-and post-game shows. Games on KMYS CW35 include the March 16 game at Oklahoma City and the Phoenix Suns game on April 14 at the AT&T Center.
Play-by-play announcer Bill Land and analyst Sean Elliott will call the action this season, with Andrew Monaco delivering the sideline reports for FOX Sports Southwest broadcasts. KENS 5 Sports Director Joe Reinagel will serve as sideline host for games on KENS, and Chuck Miketinac will step in as sideline reporter for games on KMYS CW35.
Spurs games can also be heard all season long on WOAI 1200-AM with Bill Schoening and in spanish on KCOR 1350-AM with Paul Castro.
Individual tickets for games through Feb. 4 will go on sale Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. Season tickets and game plans are on sale now and are available by calling (210) 444-5050 or at spurs.com.
