Parker has 28 as Spurs beat Chicago
| Spurs.com Sidebar by Jeff Brody, original webmaster of spurs.com On Wednesday night against the Bulls, Tony Parker and Michael Finley made up for an ailing Spurs backcourt. Time will tell how long they'll have to keep up the act. With Manu Ginobili nursing a finger injury and Brent Barry going down in the first quarter with a strained calf, Parker sliced and diced his way to a team-high 28 points on 12-of-19 shooting. Finley pitched in another 15 points. Playing their first game since firing head coach Scott Skiles, the Bulls were no match for the defending champs. They entered the game with a league-low .413 FG% and finished the game with that same mark from the field. Earlier Wednesday, the Spurs made a move to fortify their roster by signing Marcus Williams, a 6-7 wing who was drafted by San Antonio at #33 in the 2007 NBA Draft. Williams, who had been playing for the Spurs D-League affiliate Austin Toros, was averaging 18.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 35.3 minutes of action. |
