| At a glance... |
| After dropping
Game 1 at home to the Nuggets, the Spurs returned the favor in Denver
with a 96-91 win in Game 3.
The teams were locked a tight contest for nearly the entire game
until Robert Horry led the Spurs on a 11-3 run to close out the
third quarter giving the Spurs an eight point lead.
That lead would swell to 10 in the fourth, but the Nuggets charged
back to within three until Manu Ginobili iced the game with two
free throws in the final seconds.
Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points and six assists. Tim Duncan
posted five blocks, 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds including
a game-high seven offensive boards. Michael Finley had the hot hand
from long distance, sinking five of his seven attempts from beyond
the arc.
Allen Iverson (20pts) and Carmelo Anthony (28pts) combined for
48 of the Nuggets' 91 points.
