The Spurs cut a 10 point deficit late in the final moments of the fourth quarter to two with 17 seconds left but were unable to overtake the Nuggets on Sunday.

Tim Duncan, Michael Finley, Robert Horry and Tony Parker all scored in double figures for the Spurs, with Parker’s 19 as the team high.

Duncan’s 10 rebounds led the way for the Spurs with five boards each on the offensive and defensive glass. The tandem of Parker and Duncan also provided the majority of assists contributing eight and seven respectively.

The Spurs bench led by Horry, Manu Ginobili and Fabricio Oberto tallied 31. Horry contributed with 14, Ginobili with nine and Oberto with eight.

The Buzz

The Spurs may be feeling a little deja vu after their Game 1 loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. The last time these two teams met in the playoffs back in 2005, the Nuggets came into San Antonio posted a 93-87 victory.

The Spurs went on the win the next four games against Denver back then - but don't expect them to be assuming anything based on history. Manu Ginobili put it this way:

"We've been here, but I still hate it. It's not like I'm going to get confident because we've done it before...we are very upset."
