beat Golden State 112-99 Saturday night.
The Warriors had won four straight and were trying to match a
season-high winning streak.
The Spurs have won 19 straight games at home against the
Warriors, a streak that dates to Feb. 14, 1997. They've won nine
of 10 overall and are 20-3 since the All-Star break.

The Warriors and Suns play a similar style offense-focused
basketball, so the Spurs' recent game against Phoenix served as a
good preparation.
The Spurs started the game on a scoring blitz, posting a season-high 40 points
in the opening frame. The Warriors, however, posted 31 in the quarter.
After the game, Coach Pop was asked about the first quarter and replied, "I
didn't even know that [we scored that many points]. I just know that they scored
too many." |
