    About the Race:

    Join Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich, author Trisha Meili (NY Times Bestseller I Am The Central Park Jogger: A Story of Hope & Possibility ) and the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans at the Spurs Hope & Possibility 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, November 18th at the AT&T Center benefitting Achilles San Antonio at the Center for the Intrepid.

    Founded in 1983, Achilles is a 501 (c)(3)3 not-for-profit organization that provides opportunity for members with disabilities to participate in mainstream distance running, to promote personal achievement, enhanced self-esteem, and the lowering of barriers between people. The FREEDOM TEAM program was developed for our wounded veterans.

    The Center for the Intrepid is a world-class physical rehabilitation facility at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas focused on medical and rehabilitative care of wounded warriors and veterans, injured in service to America, many of whom have suffered limb-loss.

    Entry Fees:

    1 Mile & 5K Run/Walk: Pre-Registration- $25; Race Day- $35

    Awards:

    Special awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the following 5K categories:

  • Open Able-bodied- Overall and Master’s
  • Above the Knee Amputee
  • Below the Knee Amputee
  • Double Amputee
  • Ambulatory Disabled
  • Visually Impaired
  • Pushrim Wheelchair
  • Hand Crank
  • Power Wheelchair

    Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 Male & Female finishers in age categories (10 yr. increments starting at 10 and below) for Able-bodied participants .

    Important Information:

    To ensure the safety of all our participants, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or blades, and animals will not be allowed in the race or on the course.
    *Baby joggers are allowed but for safety reasons must start at the back of the race.
