A member of the Spurs organization since July of 1996 … is responsible for
Spurs Sports & Entertainment’s external affairs … born in Edinburg and raised
in McAllen … received his bachelor’s degree in political science and business
administration from the University of Texas at Pan American … obtained a
master’s degree in public policy from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public
Affairs at the University of Texas … began his professional career as an intern
with the U.S. General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C. … enjoyed a stint
with the Texas Department of Commerce before being named the assistant
director of a Hispanic public policy think tank at Trinity University… was then named vice president,
government affairs for The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce … prior to joining the Spurs
served as president of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, leading an organization with
almost 2,000 members … was the GM of Administration at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas for a year
and a half before returning to SS&E in the summer of 2005 … very active in the San Antonio community
… serves on the Board of Directors of numerous organizations including San Antonio for Growth on the
Eastside, the SAISD Foundation, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, the City’s Military Transformation Task
Force, and the Cancer Therapy Research Center…he has two children in high school, Manuel and April.
