Spurs Announce 2011-12 Regular Season Schedule

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs will tip-off the 2011-12 season on Monday, Dec. 26 vs. the Memphis Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. to open their 33-game home schedule at the AT&T Center.

The Spurs will host three games in December, including a matchup vs. Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and a New Year’s Eve game against the Utah Jazz at 7:30 p.m.

The home schedule is highlighted by 17 weekend contests that feature seven Friday night games and five Saturday and Sunday matchups. Following every Thursday, Friday and Saturday home game, the popular OVERTIME, presented by Bud Light, will return for fans to enjoy live music and drink specials following the games.

The Silver and Black will welcome the 2010-11 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. In January, the Spurs will face seven Western Conference opponents at home, including their in-state rival Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 8:00 p.m.

The month of March marks the Spurs busiest month at the AT&T Center, boasting 10 home games. San Antonio hosts seven consecutive home games from Feb. 29 through March 14, their longest such home streak of the season. This stretch features games against the Denver Nuggets (March 4), and the only visits by Amare Stoudemire and the New York Knicks (March 7) and Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic on March 14.

New Orleans and Oklahoma City will visit the Alamo City in February, the only visit for the Thunder this season. The Spurs will welcome the Hornets on Thursday, Feb. 2 and two days later host Kevin Durant and the Thunder on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. for San Antonio’s final home matchup before embarking on their annual rodeo road trip.

The Spurs return home from the rodeo road trip on Wednesday, Feb. 29 to take on Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer and the Chicago Bulls. The Spurs will host the Los Angeles Lakers twice during the final month of the regular season, playing Wednesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, April 20 at 8:30 p.m. The Spurs will close out their home schedule on Monday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. vs. the Portland Trail Blazers.

Spurs games can be heard on WOAI 1200-AM with Bill Schoening and in Spanish on KCOR 1350-AM with Paul Castro calling the action. The Spurs 2011-12 television schedule will be released at a later date.

Spurs individual tickets for games through Feb. 4 will go on sale on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. H-E-B FanZone tickets start at $10.
