Robert Swift # 31
270 lbs
Bakersfield HS '04
Sonics '04 - 1(12)
With the 12th pick of the 2004 Draft, the Sonics swung for the fences by selecting 18-year-old 7-footer Robert Swift out of Bakersfield High School. After opting for the NBA over a scholarship to USC, Swift dazzled scouts with his performance in high school All-Star Games, including 17 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in the EA Sports Roundball Classic. Swift went to work developing his game, and he flashed impressive skills in practices before getting his chance midway through his second season, cracking the starting lineup before breaking a bone near his nose. His development was put on hold by a torn ACL suffered late in the 2006 preseason, but Swift will be back on the court for 2007 training camp.
