- Seattle SuperSonics General Manager Rick Sund announced today that Vladimir Radmanovic has signed a one-year qualifying offer to remain with the Sonics.
“We’re happy Vladimir has decided to return to the Sonics,” said Sund. “He’s a multi-positional player who can shoot the 3 and he’s a good fit with our team.”
Last season, his fourth in the NBA, Radmanovic averaged 11.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 63 games. He was originally drafted by the Sonics in the first round (12th overall pick) of the 2001 NBA Draft
Radmanovic already ranks seventh in Sonics franchise history with 438 3-pointers. Last season, he hit eight 3s in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers (1/25/05) to come within one of the Sonics record held by Dale Ellis. Radmanovic participated in the 2005 Foot Locker 3-Point Shootout during All-Star Weekend in Denver.
Radmanovic recently concluded playing for the Serbia & Montenegro National Team in Eurobasket 2005. In four games, he averaged 9.0 points and 2.5 rebounds, shooting 13-for-24 (54.2%) from the field.
