Training Camp Mailbox Responses - Oct. 8

Beginning October 1, fans had the opportunity to send their questions to Sixers players. After practice on October 8 at Duke University, some of the players take time to answer their questions. Here are their responses...

Josh Davis
Martin...Plainsboro
Q: Josh, I'm looking forward to seeing you play in the pre-season and hopefully during the regular season. At Wyoming you were an interior player (I remember your great block on Dan Dickau in the tourney), but in the NBA would you be more comfortable at the 3 or 4?

A: I can play both spots, but most likely I will see time at the four. We are such a deep team right now, it is hard to tell and injuries play a large part in the 82-game NBA schedule. To me, it doesn’t matter where or when I play, when I am on the floor, I will play hard.

Q: Dear Josh Davis,
You're a new signing and all Sixers' fans are excited about your joining. You were a MVP at the CBA. Do CBA and NBA have huge differences that you have to overcome? Apart from this, how confident are your future performance?

A: Last year, I had to make the decision to play overseas or play in the CBA. I could have made more money in Europe, but I wanted to keep my name on the radar here in the States. The competition in the CBA is intense and everyone is trying to get in, or back into, the NBA.

Andre Iguodala
Patrick...Singapore
Q: Dear Andre Iguodala,
How do you think you can contribute to Sixers' front court?

A: I feel very comfortable. When I am out on the floor, I feel very confident. I am learning what is going. I am just watching and learning. When coach speaks, I am paying attention.

Sebastian...Graz
Q: Hi Andre! What does it feel like to play with veterans like Iverson, McKie or Glenn Robinson? And how far do you think can you get in your first season?

A: Allen is so quick. I learn from him by just watching him. He plays hard every night and his speed. Aaron is one of the smartest players I have ever seen. He is a constant professional, both on and off the court. I can take so much from the veterans on this squad. It is helping me along at this point.

Alan...Philly
Q: What part of your game have you worked on the most since being drafted and what did you do?

A: My main goal over the summer was to get stronger. In the NBA, you have to be able to create your own shot and be physical. You can’t wait for contact and be timid, you have to attack the rim.

Allen Iverson
Yveline...Brooklyn
Q: Now that you will be a true point guard for your team, do you feel you will have to play any differently than you have in the past?

A: I won’t have to adjust my game too much. It will be fun for me to have my hands on the ball on the break. It will be a learning process for me at first, but I will be up for it.

Cassandra...Oxford
Q: Allen,
Do you like the way Jim has rebuilt the sixers team?

A: I really like Coach’s system. It is going to be good for me, because it is a run and gun style. He doesn’t want guys to pass up open shots when they have them. Also, I think we will be one of the top defensive teams the league.
