PHILADELPHIA, PA - Dec. 3, 2002 - Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Billy King announced today that forward Monty Williams has been activated from the injured list, and forward Efthimios Rentzias was placed on the injured list with a low back strain.

Williams, who has not played in the 2002-03 regular season, underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to repair a medial meniscal tear on Oct. 25, 2002. Williams was injured in the fourth quarter of the 76ers preseason game at Houston on Oct. 24. The 6-8 forward was averaging 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 24.7 minutes per game in three preseason contests. Williams, who was signed as a free agent by the Sixers on July 25, 2002, missed the first four preseason games after being diagnosed with a small labral tear in his left shoulder, sustained on Oct. 5 in training camp.

Rentzias has played in five contests for the Sixers in 2002-03, averaging 1.2 points in 2.0 minutes per game. He was signed by the Sixers on July 2, 2002, and made his Sixers debut on Nov. 8 versus Cleveland.
