Monty Williams To Undergo Left Shoulder Rehab

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Oct. 8, 2002 - Following a review of the MRI study and a clinical examination by 76ers team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy, and shoulder specialists Dr. Gerry Williams of Presbyterian (Phila.) Hospital and Dr. Craig Morgan of Wilmington (Del.) Hospital, it has been determined that 76ers forward Monty Williams has a small labral tear in his left shoulder.

“The decision has been made to proceed with rehabilitation,” McPhilemy said. “As rehabilitation progresses, Monty will be serially examined in about a week.”

Williams, who was signed as free agent by the Sixers on July 25, 2002, was injured during the evening session of the Sixers Training Camp on Oct. 5 at Penn State University. He returned to Philadelphia on Oct. 7 to be examined.
