Comcast SportsNet adds sideline reporter Jaime Maggio to Sixers broadcast team
Season Opens on October 28 with High Definition Broadcast, Plus Extensive Pre and Postgame Coverage
Philadelphia, Pa. – October 26, 2009 – Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, the leader in local sports coverage, today announced that Jaime Maggio has joined the network as the sideline reporter for all home Sixers broadcasts. She joins Emmy-award winning broadcaster Marc Zumoff and color analyst Ed Pinckney. The Sixers open their 2009-10 season on Wednesday, October 28.
Maggio currently serves as sideline reporter for FOX’s NFL games. She was a sports reporter for Fox SportsNet North and has appeared on VERSUS’ “Fanarchy” show. She is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara where she majored in communications. Maggio succeeds Dei Lynam as sideline reporter. This season, Lynam has expanded her duties to include serving as Comcast SportsNet’s "76ers Insider," where she will provide exclusive in-depth coverage on CSNPhilly.com and be a key analyst on Comcast SportsNet's "Sixers Pregame Live" and "Sixers Postgame Live."
On Wednesday, October 28 Comcast SportsNet will debut the brand new “Sixers Pregame Live” at 6:30 p.m. prior to the Sixers’ season opener against the Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. This game will mark the debut of the new broadcast team of Marc Zumoff, Ed Pinckney and Jaime Maggio. “Sixers Postgame Live” will immediately follow the game on Comcast SportsNet.
High Definition Broadcasts
All 81 Sixers games airing on Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network will be available in high definition.
Sixers Basketball Analysts
Comcast SportsNet has added former 76er Donyell Marshall to the network’s roster of basketball analysts. Marshall, who played the past two seasons for the Sixers, will join John Celestand, who won a World Championship while playing for the LA Lakers, to provide expert analysis during “Sixers Pregame Live” and “Sixers Postgame Live.”
The region’s premier sports website, CSNPhilly.com is the online source for all Sixers news. CSNPhilly.com’s Dei Lynam will review each game, provide postgame recaps and provide insight on the team in her “Dei-Tales” blog. CSNPhilly.com will also provide live streamed coverage of the Sixers’ postgame press conferences. Sixers’ fans can create their own profiles and groups to share their fan experiences, blog, upload their own photos and videos, and comment on stories.
Meet The Sixers
Comcast SportsNet introduces the 2009-10 Philadelphia 76ers to their fans during the network’s “Meet The Sixers” program. Hosted by Gregg Murphy along with Marc Zumoff and Ed Pinckney, fans will hear from head coach Eddie Jordan and players Andre Iguodala, Elton Brand, Jason Smith, Thaddeus Young, Jason Kapono and Lou Williams. Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider and President Peter Luukko also share their outlook for the 2009-10 Sixers. "Meet The Sixers" airs on Comcast SportsNet on Tuesday, October 27 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Wednesday, October 28 at 11 p.m., Friday, October 30 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, October 31 at 5 p.m. The program also airs on The Comcast Network on Monday, October 26 at 10:30 p.m.; Monday, November 9 at 9 p.m. and Saturday, November 14 at 7 p.m.
