PHILADELPHIA 76ERS AND INTECH CONSTRUCTION HOLD JOB FAIR FOR CAMDEN TRAINING COMPLEX SITE WORKERS
PHILADELPHIA, PA – FEBRUARY 23, 2016 – The Philadelphia 76ers and INTECH Construction will host a construction job fair on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Waterfront Technology Center in Camden. INTECH Construction will provide information on hiring and placement opportunities at the Sixers new Training Complex site in Camden, NJ for interested regional residents. Contractors from the Training Complex construction site representing the carpenters, roofers, glaziers, masons, plumbers, painters, tile setters and more will be in attendance. The Philadelphia 76ers and INTECH are hosting this job fair as part of their on-going efforts to support Camden area residents and Mayor Redd’s revitalization of the waterfront. At 125,000-square-feet, the Philadelphia 76ers new Training Complex in Camden will be the largest in the NBA and include the Sixers basketball operations facility and business operations offices.

“The Philadelphia 76ers organization is incredibly proud to be part of Mayor Redd’s revitalization of the Camden waterfront. We hope this job fair will continue to demonstrate our belief that Camden is a city on the rise,” said Lara Price, Philadelphia 76ers Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “We are committed to supporting and enriching the lives of Camden area youth and residents through opportunities such as this job fair and our community engagement platforms, notably our new Sixers Youth Foundation.”

The job fair will welcome both candidates who are new but interested in the building trades, and current members of the building trades; construction trade union information will be provided to new job seekers that are interested in pre-apprenticeship programs. Identification is required to enter the job fair, however no specific construction or technical school education is necessary to attend. Job seekers interested in additional information may contact INTECH’s Lisa Ashton Mattioli at 215-243-4941.

The Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex campus is comprised of a basketball operations and business operations facility. The basketball operations facility includes two NBA regulation-size basketball courts, a 2,800-square-foot player locker room, and state-of-the-art performance, wellness, recovery, and hydrotherapy rooms. Construction is progressing as scheduled on the basketball operations facility, estimated to open for player use in the fourth quarter of this year. The business operations offices will include a media production studio, 7,000-square-foot roof deck, 10,000 square feet of mixed-use commercial space, and more.
