ShareEfthimios Rentzias Waived
Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Billy King announced on Friday, August 8, 2003 that the team has waived forward Efthimios Rentzias.
Rentzias, 6-foot-11 and 250 pounds, saw action in 35 games last season as a rookie and averaged 1.5 points per contest. His draft rights were acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks on June 26, 2002, for two future second-round draft picks. The native of Greece was originally drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 1996 in the first round with the 23rd overall selection, but he never saw action in the NBA until last season. Prior to joining the Sixers, he played five seasons with F.C. Barcelona in the Spanish League.
