Iverson Named Player of the Week for the Second Straight Week
On January 28, Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Mon Jan 21 through Sun Jan 27.
Iverson, earned Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. The last player to accomplish this feat was Karl Malone in 1997. This is third time this season he captured the award and the seventh time in his career. The 76ers were the last team to have back-to-back Player of the Week winners: Allen Iverson on 1/8/01 and Aaron McKie on 1/2/01.
During the week Iverson led the Sixers to a 3-1 record by posting averages of 37.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals, while connecting on 54-117 (.462) from the field.
